Postdoctoral Position in Spallation Physics and Spallation
                             Target Design - PD97126

The Manuel Lujan Jr. Neutron Scattering Center at Los Alamos National
Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral candidate in the area of
spallation physics and spallation target system design. The successful
candidate will be a member of the Lujan Center Spallation
Physics Team with responsibilities in the areas of Short-Pulse Spallation
Source (SPSS) and Long-Pulse Spallation Source (LPSS)
target station design, Accelerator Production of Tritium (APT)
target/blanket design, and shielding design. The position involves the
use of complex Monte Carlo transport codes (e.g., MCNP and LAHET). The
position requires documented experience in the area of
neutron transport theory and in the use of the Los Alamos MCNP Monte Carlo
code. Documented experience in the use of the Los
Alamos LAHET Code System and deterministic codes is highly desirable. For
