The Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group of the Materials Science Division at
Argonne National Laboratory is seeking candidates for postdoctoral positions
in neutron scattering. Applicants will be considered in several areas of
neutron scattering, including: powder diffraction, diffuse scattering,
quasielastic and inelastic scattering, small-angle scattering, and
reflectometry. Areas of research that are of specific interest include:
superconducting materials, magnetoresistive materials, ferroelectrics,
fast-ion conductors for battery, fuel cell, and ceramic membrane
applications, magnetic films and multilayers, quantum critical phenomena,
conducting polymers, and soft biological materials. Candidates who have a
combination of experience in synthesis, characterization, and neutron and
x-ray scattering are especially attractive. Candidates must have received a
Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, or a similar discipline within the last three
years.

Interested persons should submit a resume to James D. Jorgensen, Materials
Science Division, Building 223, Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL
60439. Phone 630-252-5513; FAX 630-252-7777; e-mail JJorgensen at ANL.GOV.
Argonne National Laboratory is an Equal Opportunity employer.
