Hahn Meitner Institute Berlin
Post-doc position

The Hahn Meitner Institute Berlin invites applications for a post-doc
position. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in physics or
chemistry and will have experience in both sample fabrication and
Neutron and X-ray scattering. A strong preference will be given to
candidates that have a demonstrated experience and interest in the
growth of transition metal oxide single crystals using an optical
floating zone mirror furnace. The successful candidate will join an
international team of scientists taking part in an active scientific
program in transition metal oxide and will be involved in the set-up of
a sample preparation laboratory, focussed on the fabrication and
characterization of transition metal oxides materials. The candidate
will be expected to be involved in both the fabrication and
characterization of materials as well as devise and execute his/her own
neutron or X-ray scattering experiments in major scientific facilities.

The Hahn-Meitner-Institut is a German National Laboratory and a member
of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres.
It is located in Berlin, the capital of Germany, has about 850 employees
and hosts the Berlin Neutron Scattering Center (BENSC), a user facility
