  BROOKHAVEN NATIONAL LABORATORY

The Center for Neutron Science at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)
presently has an opening for a research associate or assistant scientist
(level of position to be determined by experience of selected candidate) to
perform neutron scattering experiments as part of a BNL-NIST Scientific
Alliance. The position requires a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics or
related field with experience in neutron or x-ray diffraction desirable.
He/She will be located at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in
Gaithersburg, MD and will be expected to carry out forefront research in
condensed matter science, which is important to the mission activities of
both NIST and BNL. Current topics of interest include, but are not limited
to, high temperature superconductors, correlated electron systems, low
dimensional magnetism, ferro- and piezoelectricity and shape memory systems.
The individual will interact strongly with the NIST staff and the BNL
neutron community and engage in some activities, which are of benefit to
BNL, NCNR and the general scientific public.

Interested candidates should submit a CV indicating position # MK2262 to M.
