Instrument Scientists (3 roles) instrument_scientists

We are seeking three scientists to participate in commissioning and operation of the following state of the art neutron scattering instruments at Australia's new Research Reactor OPAL, which will come on line in 2006:

KOWARI Residual-Stress Diffractometer (with Dr. Oliver Kirstein)

TAIPAN Thermal-Neutron 3-Axis Spectrometer (with Dr. Sergei Danilkin)

QUOKKA Small-Angle Neutron Scattering Instrument (with Dr. Elliot Gilbert and Dr. Robert Knott)

Successful candidates will be expected to conduct a high-quality research program, in collaboration with Australian universities, industry, other ANSTO institute and overseas scientists. Possible areas can include condensed-matter physics, magnetism,
chemistry, structural biology, materials science and engineering.

Applications close on 30 September 2005
