[Neutron] Vacancy for 2 instrument scientists at the FRM II

On behalf of the State of Bavaria, the Technische Universität München
operates the high flux Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II). 
This most modern neutron source is located at the leading scientific 
campus in Garching, Germany.

We are seeking a 

                 Research Scientist
               (neutron diffraction)

for operating and further developing neutron scattering instruments
for single crystal diffraction. Besides a PhD in natural sciences and
good communication skills, the position requires excellent
experimental capabilities and preferably also experience in structural
research using scattering methods.  

In addition we are seeking a

                   Research Scientist
             (inelastic neutron scattering)

for operating and further developing our Three-Axis spectrometers for
neutron scattering. Besides a PhD in natural sciences and good
communication skills, the position requires excellent experimental
capabilities and preferably also experience in inelastic neutron
scattering.


Responsibilities include cooperation with visiting researchers in
conducting experiments, as well as development of new experimental
strategies and equipment. The successful candidate is strongly
encouraged to pursue an own research program using facilities at our
institute as well as neighbouring laboratories on the campus in
Garching.

For applicants with a strong background from prior post-doctoral
experiences a habilitation may be supported.

The appointments will initially be limited to three years with the
possibility of extension. The Technische Universität München is an
