[Neutron] Post-doctoral position at LLB Saclay

Ordered multipole structures and spin dynamics in strongly correlated  
4f‑electron systems



Applications are invited for a post-doctoral experimental research  
position at the French national neutron source, Laboratoire Léon  
Brillouin, in Saclay. The LLB is one of Europe’s foremost research  
facilities for Condensed Matter science, providing the international  
user community with a broad range of world-class neutron-scattering  
equipments.

The successful candidate will work in the Triple-Axis group and  
participate in an international collaboration focused on structure  
and dynamic properties of f-electron systems, in particular materials  
exhibiting complex multipole ordered phases, such as light rare-earth  
hexaborides, and Kondo insulators. Neutron elastic and inelastic  
scattering experiments under multi-extreme conditions (high magnetic  
fields, very low temperatures, high pressures) will be carried out  
using state-of-the-art instrumentation available at LLB. An  
additional independent research program taking advantage of these  
equipments is also encouraged. Part of the time will be devoted to  
activities as a local contact on LLB spectrometers.

The position requires a Ph.D. in Physics or Material Science and  
excellent experimental skills. We expect a broad background in  
magnetism, preferably in relation with strongly correlated electron  
systems. Significant experience in neutron scattering and/or other  
diffraction techniques would be appreciated.
