Registration is now open for the 9th PSI Summer School on Condensed Matter Research!

The school will take place between August 07-13, 2010 at the Lyceum Alpinum in Zuoz / Engadin, Switzerland
followed by a hands on training course at the PSI large scale facilities on August 14-16, 2010.

This year the school's topic will be "Magnetic Phenomena".
Detailed information and online registration is available on the web: http://school.web.psi.ch

Magnetic phenomena are not only fascinating research topics, but also of key importance to a modern society.
Magnetic phenomena and the understanding of these are basis for technologies with applications in information
technology, energy conversion, diagnostics, sensors and actuators etc.
The school will introduce magnetism and strongly correlated electron systems and show how large scale facilities
providing beams of photons, muons, and neutrons are used to study magnetic phenomena.

The school is addressed mainly to the education of PhD and postdoctoral students without prior knowledge of neutron,
X-ray and muon techniques. It is fully open to the national and non-national public and the language of the school is English.
