The School of Applied Sciences at the University of Huddersfield has created a post for a Senior Research Fellowship in the general field of experimental materials chemistry. Applications from candidates with a successful track record in the application of neutron scattering techniques are particularly welcomed.


We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic research scientist who can demonstrate

both the ability to initiate and drive an independent and successful research programme

and the potential to establish collaborative projects with other research teams in the

School’s Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences.



Candidates should have a PhD, postdoctoral research experience and be expected to generate high

impact publications, whilst also securing additional external financial support for their research, either

directly as research grants or indirectly as regular peer-reviewed beam time at national and international

neutron facilities. For appointment at Senior Research Fellow level candidates must already have a substantial

record of research and publication, together with experience of research management, dissemination and obtaining research funding.



In the first instance the appointment will be for a fixed term of three years
