The Jülich Center for Neutron Science is seeking a physicist or chemist (Ph.D.) as User Officer at the Research Reactor FRM II in Garching.

Job Description:

Organisation of the user operation of the JCNS instruments; announcement of the user programme, selection of proposals with an international commitee; coordination of the experiment times; reporting; administration of the EU funded access programme (NM13); organisation of user meetings and workshops; editing of the annual report of JCNS; public relation for JCNS; maintaining the JCNS homepage, announcements in journals etc.; cooperation with other neutron scattering centres; participation in international conferences and workshops; possibility for own research work at the instruments at JCNS.

What we expect from you:

University degree in physics or chemistry (Ph.D.); skills in cooperating with international scientists; management skills; outstanding ability to communicate; good command of English; ability to mediate between various groups; ability to present the results of JCNS in the international context; basic knowledge of neutron scattering techniques and experience in project management are of advantage.
