    Call for Proposals

J-PARC Center and CROSS-Tokai <http://www.cross-tokai.jp/en/> are
pleased to announce the Call for General Use Proposals to access the
neutron and muon beamlines at the Materials and Life Science
Experimental Facility of J-PARC in the 2014A operations period.

*2014A Operations Period : April 2014 - November 2014
Expected Proton Beam Power : 300 kW*

*Proposal Submission Deadline : 17:00 (JST) Thursday 7 November 2013*

Users wishing to conduct experiments at any of the MLF neutron or muon
beamlines during 2014A should submit proposals via the web-based J-PARC
Proposal Submission System <https://jpms.j-parc.jp/j-pas/>. Proposal
submissions for 2014A will be accepted from 17 October 2013 until the

    What's new in 2014A

Change to the Proposal Submission System

Starting in the 2014A proposal round, applicants will be asked to
indicate if their research proposal has affinity with the Japanese
national research priority areas as identified in the *Elements Strategy
Initiative*. The applicants will also be asked to indicate if the
proposed research includes, or is likely to include in the future, the
use of other major research facilities. Such *complementary use*
includes the use of other quantum beam facilities (SPring-8 etc.) and
next generation supercomputer ("K" etc.).
Please be sure to mark the appropriate checkbox in the submission system.

    Beamlines Available in 2014A
