Forschungszentrum Jülich conducts interdisciplinary, cutting-edge
research and seeks to address the pressing questions of our time. It
contributes to finding solutions to some of the greatest challenges
society now faces in the area of Energy and Environment as well as
Information and the Brain. As a member of the Helmholtz Association with
more than 5,500 employees, it counts as one of the largest
interdisciplinary research centres in Europe.

The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) provides scientists at
universities and research centres in Germany and worldwide with access
to powerful neutron instruments of the highest performance categories.
JCNS runs experiments, within the framework of a cooperation agreement
with the Technische Universität München (TUM), at the Maier-Leibnitz
Zentrum (MLZ). Research undertaken there predominantly involves both
basic and applied research in the areas of physics, chemistry, biology
and materials science.

We are currently looking for a

2014-258 – Project engineer (m/f) in the field of electrical engineering
for scientific technical instrumentation

to support and expand our team.

Job Description:

   * Planning, constructing, commissioning and servicing of
electrotechnical facilities as well as equipment at scientific-technical
experimental facilities (e.g. control cabinets, measurement technology,
control and feedback control systems) and their power supply
   * Issuing and revising documentation for the construction, function
and commissioning of facilities, issuing operating instructions and
maintaining all project documentation in good order
   * Working closely with internal and external project members at
Forschungszentrum Jülich, and also at national and international
research facilities e.g. JCNS outstations such as SNS (Oak Ridge, USA)
or ILL (Grenoble, France)

Your Profile:

   * University Degree (Bachelor or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering
   * Experience in the area of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is
desirable
   * Experience in the areas of switching and transformer power supply
technology, bus systems and hardware interfaces, high voltage and
amplifier technology as well as digital and analogue signal transmission
would be advantageous
   * A structured, goal- and result-oriented approach to work; readiness
to take part in ongoing training programmes
