Neutron Sciences Call for Proposals - Oak Ridge National Laboratory

*         Opportunity to request Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS) characterization time as part of your neutron proposal.

Proposals for beam time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and Spallation Neutron Source (SNS)
will be accepted via the web-based proposal system until

NOON     EASTERN TIME, Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

This call is for experiments anticipated to run January through June 2017.

Our current schedule calls for reduced time available in this cycle at the SNS due to an extended maintenance outage due to begin at the end of March 2017. Also during this experimental period, HFIR will have four cycles scheduled. Please see articles on these changes in our latest edition of the ORNL Neutron Times<http://neutrons.ornl.gov/usernews>.

Specific information about this call and about each of the instruments available during this experimental period is included on the ORNL Neutron Sciences<http://neutrons.ornl.gov/> web site.

Proposals will be reviewed for feasibility, safety, and potential for high-impact science.  Users for approved projects must complete access and training requirements prior to beginning experiments.
