<DIV>You’re invited to be part of one of Australia’s foremost scientific
research and development organisations, focused on delivering the benefits of
nuclear science to the Australian community. <BR></DIV>

<DIV>Based in southern Sydney, and close to the Pacific Ocean, at Lucas Heights,
our neutron scattering scientists are responsible for the operation, research
use, and development of a range of neutron beam instruments.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We are seeking a scientist to participate in the operation of the
state-of-the-art small angle neutron scattering instrument at Australia’s new
Research Reactor OPAL, which has recently been commissioned.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Successful candidates will be expected to conduct a high-quality research
program, in collaboration with Australian universities, industry, other ANSTO
institutes and overseas scientists. Possible areas of work may include
soft-matter physics, magnetism, chemistry, structural biology, or materials
science. <BR></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. in condensed-matter physics,
chemistry, materials science or a related area, excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work both independently and in
teams. Experience at, or using, major neutron-scattering or x-ray
synchrotron facilities will be an advantage.</DIV>

<DIV>To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and
medical assessment and Australian citizens are preferred. </DIV>
