is seeking a post-doctoral researcher with demonstrated expertise in the area
of scattering studies of condensed matter magnetism. Candidates with a recent
Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields will be
considered. Experiences and knowledge with inelastic time-of-flight instrument
operation, data treatment, etc. on pulsed neutron sources are desirable, though
not essential. Strong written and oral communication skills and the desire to
work in a team environment on scientifically challenging problems are required.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct independent research at the
Spallation Neutron Source, the High Flux Isotope Reactor at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory and other neutron scattering facilities around the world. Reports to
the lead instrument scientist of CNCS. Works with other members in the Neutron
Scattering Science Division and collaborates with scientists in Oak Ridge
National Laboratory and other neutron scattering institutions. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
