<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><b>Postdoctoral Fellowship in Materials Chemistry/Physics </b></div><div><i>School of Chemistry, University of Sydney; and Bragg Institute, ANSTO (Australia)</i></div><div><br></div><div>This Australian Research Council-funded project is based around the use of diffuse X-ray and neutron scattering to investigate the role of local structural features in functional oxides, such as relaxor ferroelectrics and fast-ion conductors. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship involving sample preparation, including single crystal growth; physical property characterisation; synchrotron X-ray and neutron scattering experiments; and <i>ab initio</i> (DFT) modelling of local structure and dynamics.</div><div><br></div><div>The position is full time from late 2009 for two years subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees, with the possibility of a further offer for up to one year (contingent upon funding). Please note that applicants must be eligible for the security clearance required to access the OPAL research reactor at ANSTO. </div><div><br></div><div>
Remuneration package: AU$79,845-85,717 p.a. (consisting of a base salary, leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).</div><div>
