The 7th Pacific Rim International Conference on
Advanced Materials and Processing (PRICM - 07)
1-5 August 2010
Cairns Convention Centre
Cairns, Australia*

This Conference is the 7th in a series of international conferences
devoted to advanced materials and processing. The Conference, which is
held every three years, is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Society for
Metals (CSM), The Japan Institute of Metals (JIM), The Korean Institute
of Metals and Materials (KIM), Materials Australia (MA), and The
Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) and organised in rotation.
The purpose of PRICM is to provide an attractive forum for the exchange
of scientific and technological information on materials and processing.
The first Conference was held in Hanzhou, China, in 1992, followed by
the second in Kyongju, Korea, in 1995, the third in Hawaii, USA, in
1998, the fifth in Beijing, China, in 2004, the sixth in Jeju Island,
Korea, in 2007. This is the first time for the PRICM to be held in
Australia. Cairns is a tropical city in the northern part of Queensland.
It is an excellent base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, the
largest coral reef system in the world and one of the seven wonders of
the natural world.

The PRICM-7 program will include plenary, keynote and invited lectures
(see keynote lectures at http://www.materialsaustralia.com.au/pricm7)
and contributed presentations in the following symposia:

* Symposium A: Advanced Steels and Processing
* Symposium B: Advanced High Temperature Structural Materials
* Symposium C: Light Metals and Alloys
* Symposium D: Bulk Metallic Glasses and Nanomaterials
* Symposium E: Solidification, Deformation and Related Processing
* Symposium F: Modelling and Simulation of Microstructures and
Processes
* Symposium G: Thin Films and Surface Engineering
* Symposium H: Advanced Ceramics
* Symposium I: Biomaterials, Smart Materials and Structures
* Symposium J: Materials Characterisation and Evaluation
* Symposium K: Composites and Hybrid Materials
* Symposium L: Energy Generation, Harvesting and Storage Materials
* Symposium M: IOMMMS Global Materials Forum

Organised by Materials Australia. Sponsored by CSM, JIM, KIM, TMS
