<p class=MsoNormal>The Neutron Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a Mechanical Facilities
Engineer.  With the United States’ highest flux reactor-based
neutron source for condensed matter research (the High Flux Isotope Reactor)
and the world's most intense pulsed, accelerator-based neutron source (the
Spallation Neutron Source), ORNL is becoming the world's foremost center for

<p class=MsoNormal>The SNS Site Services organization is responsible for the
design, construction and maintenance of the conventional facilities and
utilities for the ORNL – Chestnut Ridge Campus.  Facility Engineers
serve as the primary technical resource for issues related to facility
infrastructure.  They are the resident authority on engineering aspects
related to system operations and maintenance.  Facility Engineers assist
the Operations Manager in ensuring configuration control for facilities and
systems and manages the Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) programs for
their assigned facilities.  The facilities that will be the responsibility
for selected candidate include the Central Laboratory and Office Building 8600,
Center for Nanophase Materials Science Building 8610, JINS Building 8630,
Receiving, Acceptance, Testing and Storage Building 8920, miscellaneous office
trailers, and future ORNL Guest House 8640. <o:p></o:p></p>

must be able to understand and manage technical issues related for facility
infrastructure (e.g., configuration control, building systems, and
utilities).  They should understand the operational requirements of the
research customers that they support.  Supervisory experience and
familiarity with craft support work are highly desirable.  Candidates
should have strong computer skills, good interpersonal abilities, and good
