neutron device so that small samples can be used with extreme sample environments. This is challenging, not onlybecause the samples are small, but because part of the focusing apparatus will be located within the sample environment equipment. The final stages
of theproject will involve the construction and testing of a prototype device at the Institute Laue-Langevin in Grenoble, France.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in fulloperation 2025, ESS has
