EN-US">A joint PhD position is available at the Department of
Physics at the
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in
Trondheim, Norway, and
The Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The
appointment has a
duration of 3 years, and it is financed by the Research Council
of Norway and
by the NBI. There is a possibility of until 1 year extension
beyong the 3 years
with 25% teaching duties in agreement with the Department of
Physics NTNU. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

and Complex Condensed Matter Physics, and at NBI in the Dynamics
Neutrons and
X-Rays Scattering Group which is dedicated to the use of
inelastic neutron
scattering to the understanding of mobility of hydrogen in

EN-US">The theme of the PhD research is “Physical capture and
release of drug
molecules by clays: X-ray and neutron studies”. We are seeking a
person with
good understanding of physical chemistry and experimental and
theoretical
condensed matter physics. The candidate will experimentally
investigate the
interactions of drug molecules with materials such as synthetic
or natural
clays. The experiments will involve use of neutron scattering,
and (synchrotron)
X-ray scattering techniques, as well as spectrometry techniques
commonly used
in physical chemistry studies. Also some simulation work will be
part of the
project.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

background in condensed
matter physics and physical chemistry. Experience from

interdisciplinary research and take keen interest in learning
and working in
