<p><strong><span style="color:black">DIRECTOR OF REACTOR OPERATIONS</span></strong><span style="color:black">: The Director of Reactor Operations (DRO) is the senior operations position at the MIT Research Reactor.  The DRO is responsible for safe operation
 of the 6 MW MIT Research Reactor with its associated experimental facilities.  He/she directs reactor planning including standard operating procedures, emergency and abnormal operating procedures, the training/requalification programs, quality assurance, and
 the security plan. The DRO manages all engineering and maintenance upgrades for the reactor and oversight of engineering personnel supporting reactor experiments.  Additional responsibilities include:  overseeing the fuel management program including spent
 fuel shipments; interfacing with Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors and handling correspondence with that agency; knowledge of federal regulations as they pertain to nuclear reactors especially 10 CFR 20/50/55/73:  maintaining reactor safety analysis
 reports and associated technical specifications; and adhering to all radiation protection measures and exercise sound radiological control judgment while working in areas containing radioactive materials.  The DRO manages a staff of approximately 30 personnel.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<span style="color:black">QUALIFICATIONS:  BS degree engineering/science, 5 years responsible management of a nuclear reactor, good writing skills, ability to work well in a team environment. A senior reactor operator’s license or equivalent experience/authority
 from a similar facility is required.   Prior U.S. Navy nuclear experience, commercial, or research nuclear reactor experience desired.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
