The Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution of Washington, seeks applications for the position of Neutron Scattering Coordinator within its Energy Frontier Research in Extreme Environments Center (EFree).

The main responsibilities in this position will be to lead the development of new synchrotron radiation techniques for energy materials research and provide expertise in existing synchrotron x-ray techniques in support of EFree projects. The Coordinator will also have significant flexibility and freedom to carry out his/her own research program, consistent with the goals of the Center.
It is anticipated that the Coordinator will be based at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory, with periodic travel to the Geophysical Laboratory in Washington, DC.
A PhD degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or a related field is required. Postdoctoral experience and experience with synchrotron x-ray techniques are also required.
