Villigen PSI, Switzerland
For the Neutron Optics and Scientific Computing Group within the Laboratory for Scientific Developments and Novel Materials PSI is looking for a Software Developer.
The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research centre for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. We perform cutting-edge research in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health. By performing fundamental and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for major challenges facing society, science and economy. PSI is committed to the training of future generations. Therefore about one quarter of our staff are post-docs, post-graduates or apprentices. Altogether PSI employs 1900 people.
Within an EU project together with the European Spallation Source (ESS) you develop a hardware- and software infrastructure for neutron event streaming. The task includes the design of a solution and the evaluation of suitable candidate solutions. The solution needs to be implemented, tested and documented. You further verify the developed infrastructure at SINQ instruments at PSI.
Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. If you wish to optimally combine work and family life or other personal interests, we are able to support you with our modern employment conditions and the on-site infrastructure.
Your employment contract is limited to 2 years.
You have a degree in informatics or natural sciences and solid experience in developing software in C++ in a unix environment. Furthermore, you have experience in software development methodologies and tools.
