MURR is the largest neutron source (10 MW) on a U.S. campus and is well-suited for neutron scattering research. It currently operates 4 instruments: a triple-axis spectrometer, a reflectometer, and two powder diffractometers.

Job description

Primary responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to enhance the existing neutron scattering program by participating in existing neutron scattering research projects and being involved in upkeep and maintenance of the existing suite of instruments. He/she is encouraged to initiate an active research program of his/her own in Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science primarily utilizing MURR’s instruments.
