Description of Institution

The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe’s leading research facility for scientific research using neutrons. We welcome more than 2000 visiting scientists per year to carry out world-class research.

Job description

Duties:
As a member of the group in charge of ILL’s reception desk and travel office, you will carry out the following duties:

  • managing scientist visits (processing of invitations, reserving and managing visitors’ accommodation, checking of invoices)
  • reception of visitors and telephone duties, processing of emails and maintenance of databases.

As part of a multifunctional team you may also be involved in :

  • organising business travel arrangements for ILL staff,
  • checking and reimbursing travel expenses for ILL staff and visiting scientists

Requested Profile

Qualifications and experience:
You hold an NVQ level 4 qualification in tourism, or equivalent professional experience.
You are familiar with office computers including Word and Excel.
You are rigorous and organised and will enjoy being part of a versatile team working in an international environment. A smart appearance and first-class interpersonal skills are essential for this position.

Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France.
You must have very good knowledge of written and spoken English ; French or the willingness to learn French is also desirable (a language course will be paid for by the ILL).
Knowledge of German is an advantage.
