POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
NETWORK GLASSES

Applications are invited for an EPSRC funded postdoctoral research
associate to work on several fundamental aspects of the structure and
dynamics of network materials that are of significant scientific and
technological importance. The project will take advantage of
recent developments in instrumentation at neutron and synchrotron
radiation sources and will focus on the influence of different bonding
mechanisms and of light on the atomic properties of networks at the
partial structure factor level.  The work will be conducted under the
aegis of Dr Phil Salmon at the University of Bath and Dr Spencer Howells
at the ISIS pulsed neutron source and will benefit from substantial
interaction with colleagues using Car-Parrinello and other molecular
dynamics methods.  Further information on the Bath group is available at

The starting salary will be from GBP 18,731 per annum and the post is
immediately available. The grant has a duration of three years.
