Post-doctoral position at HMI-Berlin

The Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin invites applications for a post-doctoral
position in the area of neutron scattering.


We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. physics or
chemistry and experience in neutron scattering.The successful candidate will
participate in the operation and development of the wide angle neutron spin
echo spectrometer SPAN
(see http://www.hmi.de/bensc/instrumentation/instrumente/v5/v5.html). He/she
will assist BENSC users in conducting experiments in many different areas of
condensed matter research and do its own research in the field of dynamics
of condensed matter by neutron scattering. The post gives an excellent
opportunity for young postdoctoral scientists to broaden their experience
and develop their expertise using the unique neutron scattering facilities
of BENSC.



The Hahn-Meitner-Institut is a German National Laboratory and a member of
the Herman von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres and has
about 850 employees. It hosts the Berlin Neutron Scattering Centre (BENSC),
a user facility open to scientists from all over the world. To probe the
structure and dynamics of solids and liquids, BENSC provides scientists with
state-of-the-art neutron scientific equipment.



The position is for three years with a gross income of 70.000 DEM per annum
(depending on age and marital status the income may be higher). Applications
