The Laboratory for Neutron Scattering, LNS (ETH Zurich & PSI Villigen) has
an open position for a scientist to work in the field of strongly correlated
electron systems (e.g., high-temperature superconductors, GMR manganates and
cobaltates, quantum spin systems). The position is on a contractual basis
and has a duration of 2-3 years with an option for prolongation. The
starting date is mid-2003 (or according to mutual agreement).

    ********** Research Scientists ************

are invited to apply for this position.

Your tasks:
Performance of research in the field of strongly correlated electron
systems, mainly by neutron scattering techniques (the use of X-ray
scattering techniques at the Swiss Light Source at PSI Villigen is
encouraged as well).

Co-responsibility for the commissioning, operation and further development
of a triple-axis neutron spectrometer at the spallation source SINQ at PSI

Co-operation with guest scientists in their experiments at SINQ.

Your profile:
You are a graduated research scientist (PhD), preferentially with some
years research experience in the field of strongly correlated electron
systems as well as neutron and/or X-ray scattering.

You have some practical knowledge of computing and cryogenics.

You are willing to work in a team and to communicate (establishing a
professional relationship with both staff and guest scientists) as well as
to work flexible hours.
