[Neutron] Instrument Scientist Position at the NCNR

The NIST Center for Neutron Research <http://www.ncnr.nist.gov/> (NCNR)
invites applications for an Instrument Scientist position at the Cold Neutron
Triple-Axis Spectrometer, SPINS <http://www.ncnr.nist.gov/instruments/spins/>.
The SPINS is part of the Center for High Resolution Neutron Scattering (CHRNS)
 <http://www.ncnr.nist.gov/programs/CHRNS/> which is a national user
facility funded by the National Science Foundation <http://www.nsf.gov/>
and the NCNR. The duties of the position will involve collaborating with
scientific users, participating in the on-going instrumental upgrade, and
performing her/his own research.

A Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics or material science is required
and experience in neutron or X-ray scattering techniques will be desirable but
not essential. The position will be in conjunction with the University of
Maryland, College Park, MD, and the successful candidate will be stationed at
the NCNR. Appointments are typically two years and extendable for another year.
The starting salary is $50,000+ depending on qualifications and experience.
