Post-Doctoral Position in Magnetism in Thin Films and Nanostructures

Argonne National Laboratory

The Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group of the Materials Science Division
(MSD) in conjunction with the Intense Pulsed Neutron Source (IPNS) at
Argonne National Laboratory is inviting applications for a postdoctoral
research fellow to study magnetism in thin films and nanostructures. Of
interest is the study of exchange bias, exchange coupling, magnetic
phase transitions in magnetic thin films, magnetization reversal, and
the magnetic behavior of nanopatterned magnetic films. The successful
candidate will have the opportunity to engage in his/her own research as
well as collaborate with scientists who use the POSYI polarized
reflectometer at IPNS.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. Degree, awarded within the last 3 years,
in physics, materials science, or in a similar discipline and have
experience in magnetism, preferable of thin films. Desirable, but not
essential, is experience with scattering techniques. Postdoctoral
positions at Argonne are for one year increments, renewable up to three

We welcome applications from candidates who can contribute to our
EO/Affirmative Action goals. Interested candidates should submit a
curriculum vitae, the names and addresses of three references, and a
possible statement of research interests to:
