Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neutron and X-ray Scattering
                McMaster University

A postdoctoral fellowship is offered in neutron and x-ray scattering
studies of novel magnetic and superconducting materials at McMaster
University to work with Prof. Bruce Gaulin. These studies will be carried
out using national and international neutron and synchrotron x-ray
scattering facilities, on the basis of competitive beamtime allocation,
and with research facilities at McMaster University. These in-house
facilities include an 18kW rotating anode x-ray source and triple axis
x-ray diffractometer, a new neutron diffractometer optimized for single
crystal characterization and alignment at the 3MW McMaster Nuclear
Reactor, an extensive floating zone image furnace laboratory optimized
for the growth of large and pristine single crystals, and magnetic
characterization facilities.

Experience with neutron and x-ray scattering techniques is an advantage,
but is not required. The successful candidate will be expected to work
with and mentor graduate students and senior year undergraduates.
The initial appointment is for one year, with a second year possible
by mutual agreement.
