[Neutron] Open position research scientist particle and nuclear physics at FRM II

On behalf of the State of Bavaria, the Technische Universität München 
operates the Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) in Garching. 
We are seeking a

Research Scientist

for operating and further developing the neutron beam facility MEPHISTO 
for particle and nuclear physics experiments. 

Responsibilities include cooperation with visiting researchers in 
conducting experiments, as well as development of experimental equipment 
for neutron polarisation and polarisation analysis, and the planning of 
a new beamline. The position requires a Ph.D. in experimental physics, 
excellent experimental capabilities and communication skills. Prior 
experience in working with slow neutrons would be helpful.

The successful candidate is strongly encouraged to pursue an own 
research program using MEPHISTO or any of the other facilities at the 
Institute. In particular, the position offers the opportunity to 
actively participate in a development and research program with cold and 
ultra-cold neutrons in close collaboration with groups of the Physics 
Department.

The appointment will initially be limited to three years with the 
possibility of extension or to become permanent. The Technische
