The Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group of the Materials Science Division at
Argonne National Laboratory is seeking candidates for a staff scientist in
the field of neutron and x-ray diffraction. We are looking for an
experienced scientist with a distinguished record of scattering research and
a commitment to developing a strong program for elucidating the link between
structure and materials properties. The successful applicant will utilize
diffraction facilities available within Argonne at the Advanced Photon
Source and Intense Pulsed Neutron Source, as well as those being developed
at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and
throughout the world.

Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials
Science or a similar discipline and at least five years¹ experience beyond
Ph.D. in a research environment. Experience in the application of neutron
and x-ray scattering techniques to determine the crystal structure of
inorganic materials is required. You will demonstrate sound research
accomplishments, the ability to develop and lead an independent research
program, and potential for collaboration with existing related programs at
Argonne National Laboratory. Information about the Neutron and X-ray
Scattering Group can be found at http://www.msd.anl.gov/groups/nxrs.

Interested candidates should send a detailed curriculum vitae, containing a
list of publications and the names and addresses of three references through
the Argonne web site at http://www.anl.gov/jobs under job search for
requisition number 311165 MSD prior to February 15, 2007.

If you apply online, please also inform me directly at ROsborn at anl.gov.

Argonne National Laboratory is approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago
on a beautiful 1500-acre campus-like environment. Argonne is a U.S.
Department of Energy laboratory managed by UChicago Argonne, LLC, an equal
opportunity employer.
