POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
The Correlated Electron Materials Group at Brookhaven National
Laboratory (BNL) has two postdoc positions available immediately. The
research project focuses on the synthesis and study of superconductivity
and magnetic order in novel and strongly correlated intermetallic
compounds, with special emphasis on the collective phenomena found near
quantum critical points. Candidates must have completed their PhD in
experimental condensed matter physics or a related field, and preferably
have research experience related to magnetic or strongly correlated
materials, or bulk synthesis methods. Neutron or x-ray scattering
experience is optimal, as well as expertise in bulk crystal synthesis
and characterization techniques. Electron microscopy, crystallography,
or scanning probe microscopy skills preferred. Experience with low
temperature measurement techniques are required, especially
magnetization, heat capacity, and electrical transport. Interested
candidates should submit a CV and the names of three references to Dr.
Meigan Aronson (e-mail: maronson at bnl.gov) BNL is an equal opportunity
employer committed to workforce diversity.
