On behalf of the State of Bavaria, the Technische Universität München
operates the high flux Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz ( FRM II ).
This most modern neutron source is located at the leading scientific
campus in Garching, Germany.

We invite applications for a
Physicist / Engineer
in the Detector and Electronics Group

Duties
Working within the Detector and Electronics group you will support the
research scientists in the operation of the neutron detectors installed
at the various scientific instruments at FRM II. You are responsible for
the proper performance of the present detectors and you play a leading
role in their permanent improvement including readout electronics and
data acquisition systems. You actively participate in a program for the
development of new neutron detector concepts and the related readout
electronics performed in the framework of an international collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience
You have extensive knowledge in the areas of experimental and technical
physics. Preferably you have experience in the field of detectors and
related readout electronics for nuclear and particle physics
applications. You have expertise in analog and digital electronics.
Experience in the development of analog electronics is beneficial. A
sound knowledge in the fields of engineering, materials and vacuum
technology is welcome.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills and
the ability to team work in an international context.

The appointment will initially be limited to three years with the
possibility of extension. The Technische Universität München is an equal
