[Neutron] ORNL Post Doc Position opening - NSSD in Triple Axis

The Neutron Scattering Science Division (NSSD) at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory (ORNL) is now accepting applications for a PostDoc Fellowship
in the Triple Axis Group. (Deadline: August 31, 2008)

 

Work Direction and Interfaces:   

Reports to the NSSD Triple Axis Group Leader.  

Conducts scientific research using neutron scattering. The areas of
research may include, but are not limited to, magnetism, strongly
correlated electron systems, chemistry and materials science 

Assists the HFIR triple axis instrument scientists in support of the
neutron scattering user program. 

Works with scientists at NSSD, ORNL and external institutions, in the
development and conduction of collaborative scientific research
programs.  

 

Qualifications: 

Recent Ph.D. in any of the Physical Sciences.  

Strong background in hard condensed matter physics as evidenced by an
outstanding record of publications in top peer-reviewed journals.  

Strong interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.  

Desire to work in a team environment on technically challenging
problems. 

Experience in inelastic neutron scattering is highly desirable.
