The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is
Europe's leading facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The
ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world, reliably
delivering intense neutron beams to 40 unique scientific instruments.
The Institute welcomes more than 2000 visiting scientists per year to
carry out world-class research in solid-state physics, crystallography,
soft matter, biology, chemistry and fundamental physics. Funded
primarily by its three founder members: France, Germany and the United
Kingdom, the ILL has also signed scientific collaboration agreements
with 11 other European countries. The Science Division currently has a
vacancy for a:

*RESEARCH SCIENTIST (m/f)*

Working within the Three-Axis Spectrometer Group, and in collaboration
with the first instrument responsible, you will be in charge of the
operation and development of the three-axis spectrometer IN8, which is
installed on a thermal neutron beam. In addition to carrying out your
own research programme, your duties will include promoting scientific
partnerships in your own field of research and acting on a regular basis
as Local contact for outside users carrying out experiments at the ILL,
in particular on the various instruments in the TAS group.

/Qualifications and experience:/
You hold a Ph.D. in solid-state physics or in chemistry.Dynamic and
highly motivated, you are interested in instrumentation and computing.
Experience of neutron scattering, preferably in the field of the study
of collective excitations in crystals, would be appreciated.
The post represents an excellent opportunity for a young postdoctoral
scientist to develop expertise, broaden experience and interact with
leading scientists from around the world. Applications f
