The Laboratory for Neutron Scattering (LNS) at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI, Villigen, Switzerland) is responsible for the operation and development of instrumentation at the spallation neutron source SINQ. The members of the LNS conduct a strong in-house research program with special emphasis on strongly correlated electron systems, magnetism, superconductivity, material science and soft condensed matter.

For the spectroscopy group at LNS we are looking for a

Postdoctoral Fellow
Instrument scientist on the time-of-flight spectrometer FOCUS

Your tasks:
You will be responsible for the completion and commissioning of the polarisation option for the time-of-flight instrument FOCUS. You will conduct your own research projects linked to the existing in-house research activities of the LNS. You will support the external user program at FOCUS.

Your profile:
The successful candidate holds a PhD in experimental physics or chemistry and has experience in neutron scattering. Know-how in neutron instrumentation is desirable. You have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment.
