Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a series of Croucher Summer Course on Neutron Scattering, to be held biennially in Hong Kong. The first course is scheduled for August 11-15, 2014, at the City University of Hong Kong. For more information, please visit the website, http://projects.croucher.org.hk/summer-courses/neutron-scattering-a-powerful-method-for-materials-research

Applications are invited from graduate students and early career researchers who wish to learn about theory and applications of neutron scattering in materials research. The first course will empathize two most widely used techniques: neutron diffraction and small angle neutron scattering. Data analysis will be a focus of the summer course, and tutors will be arranged to guide the students in learning, in addition to the lecturers.

The deadline for application is June 1, 2014. There is a registration fee of $3000 HKD (or $386 USD) which includes lodging, lunch, and coffee breaks. The number of participants in the course will be limited to 30, in order to facilitate greater interaction between participants and lecturers and tutors. A limited number of scholarships will be available to international students, to cover the registration fee and help defray their travel cost.
