[Neutron] EXTENDED deadline: Instrument Scientist on the Cold Triple Axis

The National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) of Taiwan
has extended the deadline for the job position as an instrument
scientist on SIKA at  ANSTO, Sydney until October 7th.

NSRRC is seeking candidates for an instrument scientist position for
the cold triple axis SIKA. The position is within the NSRRC neutron
group which operates SIKA as well as helps develop the Taiwan Neutron
Program.


The incumbent is expected to assist academic users on the SIKA
spectrometer and contribute to the running of the instrument. (S)he
should perform their own independent research on the cold triple axis
spectrometer performing high energy resolution studies in condensed
matter systems while also taking advantage of the wide range of
neutron instrumentation available at the Bragg Institute.

This opening, at the associate or assistant level and will be on a
continuing bases after a one year probationary period. An income
package, including salary and a Sydney living allowance will be based
on qualifications and experience.


Requirements:

1. PhD in in physics or related discipline is required.  A strong
understanding of solid-state physics and magnetism is highly desired.

2. At least two years of postdoc experience.

3. Experience in triple-axis neutron spectrometry (or related
techniques) is desirable but not essential.

4. Fluent in English. Interview will be conducted in English and the
working environment in Australia is English.

5. Willing to relocate to Australia. This position is based at ANSTO, Australia.
