It is our pleasure to announce the International Conference on Quasielastic Neutron Scattering QENS 2016 and Workshop on Inelastic Spectrometers WINS 2016 taking place in Potsdam Germany. QENS 2016 will take place from 5 to 8 of September 2016 and will be immediately followed by WINS 2016 from 8 to 9 of September 2016.
QENS 2016 will be focused on the research of dynamics phenomena in materials for energy and information technology applications by neutron spectroscopy. Modeling, either to deeper understanding of experimental data, or in the prediction of new materials and phenomena will also be part of the conference. A special session will be dedicated to water. The understanding of functional dynamics phenomena often require broader time scale, therefore we welcome contributions from both quasielastic and inelastic neutron scattering techniques.
The registration for QENS 2016 is open now. For more information please see: http://www.helmholtz-berlin.de/events/qens-2016/index_de.html
Topics of QENS 2016:
- Hydrogen and gas storage systems
- Batteries, supercapacitors and fast ionic conductors
- Materials for solar cells
- Ionic liquids
- Water and aqueous solutions
- Ferrielectrics, ferroelectrics and multiferroics
- Quantum magnets
- Highly correlated electron system
- Nanostructured materials for energy applications
The 7th workshop on Inelastic Neutron Spectrometers WINS 2016 will be held on September 8, 2016 in Potsdam and on the 10.09.2016 at Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin / Germany as a satellite of Quasielastic neutron scattering conference. Workshop series has been launched in 2004 in Tokai by the J-PARC team and was a continuing effort to further innovations in neutron spectrometer design. The workshop will cover innovative aspects of the instrument design as well as reports on progress of spectrometer projects. Special emphasis will be given development of sample characterization such as polarization, magnetic field, pressure. Software for data acquisition, analysis and instrument simulation will be also part of the agenda. Participation of the young scientist is particularly welcome.
The registration for WINS 2016 is open now. For more information please see: http://www.helmholtz-berlin.de/events/qens-2016/wins-2016/index_de.html
- Compact Sources
