____________________________________________________________

The next DEADLINE for the submission of beam time requests for the Swiss
spallation neutron source 'SINQ' http://www.psi.ch/sinq will be:

   ********* February 20, 2018, midnight, C.E.T. *********

Please be aware that this will be the only SINQ proposal deadline in 2018 !

_____________________________________________________________
PERIOD:
Herewith we call for proposals for the beam time period I/18 between
01/07/2018 and 23/12/2018.

_____________________________________________________________
PROPOSAL-SUBMISSION:
New users are kindly asked to contact the instrument responsibles
before submitting a proposal to discuss instrumental options and
reasonable beam time requests.
Please make use of the option to link related previous proposals with their
experimental reports to the new one. A proper mention of previous results
will provide a certain 'bonus' during the evaluation process. This feature replaces
the previous option to submit 'continuation proposals'.

Guidelines for the proposal submission and further useful information can be
found on the SINQ webpages:
http://www.psi.ch/sinq/access-to-sinq

INSTRUMENTS:
The following instruments will be open for new proposals in cycle I/18:

Powder Diffractometers : HRPT, DMC
Single Crystal Diffractometer : ZEBRA
Strain Scanner : POLDI
Small Angle Scattering : SANS-I, SANS-II
Reflectometer : AMOR
Triple Axis Spectrometers : TASP, EIGER
Time-of-Flight Spectrometer : FOCUS
Radiography, Imaging : NEUTRA, ICON, N-Microscope

Further detailed information about the SINQ instruments can be obtained here:
http://www.psi.ch/sinq/instrumentation

The feasibility of complex experiments should always be discussed
in advance with the instrument and sample environment responsibles.

Please note:
The RITA-II triple-axis spectrometer is going to be replaced by the new CAMEA spectrometer
and will not be available in 2018 anymore. Please contact the instrument responsibles if
diffractive experiments planned on RITA-II can be done on ZEBRA instead: oksana.zaharko at psi.ch

For beamtime applications for the new Neutron Microscope please choose 'Neutron Microscope'
as instrument and subsequently select either POLDI or ICON as preferred instrument.
