Other Neutron Centres

Many Neutron Facilities accept proposals at any time. Below are notes regarding submission of proposals at some of them, or search through our worldwide list to find website links for individual centres.

Canadian Neutron Beam Centre (CNBC)

Proposal deadlines: Proposals are accepted at any time.
Reactor cycles: Reactor runs continually with one month shutdown, typically beginning in April or May, and one-week shutdowns every three or four weeks.

Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB)

Reactor cycles: For users of BER II neutron-scattering instruments, beamtime is allocated on a 24 hours basis; in general from 9:00 to 9:00 the following day.

Institute for Energy Technology (IFE)

Proposal deadlines: No specific deadlines

ISIS Neutron and Muon Source (ISIS)

Given that ISIS is not a reactor there are no fixed run cycles for every year.
Proposal deadlines: 16 April and 16 October each year.

Low Energy Neutron Source (LENS)

Proposal deadlines: Inquiries regarding potential collaborative research will be accepted at any time.
Reactor cycles: The facility is running as needed. Typically in 2 to 3 week cycles.

MIT Nuclear Reactor Laboratory (MIT-NRL)

Proposal deadlines: Proposals are accepted at any time.

McMaster Nuclear Reactor (MNR)

Proposal deadlines: Proposals are accepted at any time.

National Centre for Nuclear Research – MARIA

At present a beam time allocation at the facility can be applied for by submitting proposals directly to Dr J. J. Milczarek (jacek.milczarek@ncbj.gov.pl).

Nuclear Physics Institute (ASCR)

Proposal deadlines: Proposals are accepted at any time.

Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute (PNPI)

Reactor cycles: all year long

Reactor Institute Delft (RID)

Proposal deadlines: No proposal deadlines
Reactor cycles: weekly

SINQ/PSI

Proposal deadlines: No proposal deadlines until 2020
Reactor cycles: SINQ is being upgraded during 2019 and will not be available to Users until 2020.

TRIGA Mark II Reactor, TU Vienna (TUV)

Proposal deadlines: no proposals
Reactor cycles: no reactor cycles , reactor operates on a weekly (40 hours) base on demand

University of Missouri Research Reactor
Reactor cycles run 52 weeks of the year.
