On this page you can find a list of journals where scientists who use neutrons publish their results. On the first sub-list there are three journals dedicated to neutron scattering research. The second one lists a number of journals that provide papers free of charge to the reader.
Please click on each journal to read a short description about its main objectives as well as to find the journal’s website.
Journal of Neutron Research
The Journal of Neutron Research publishes original research papers of an experimental and theoretical nature in three areas of specialization in neutron research:, Neutron Instrumentation and Techniques, Reactor and Spallation Source Technology, and Engineering Science. Short workshop or conference proceedings may also be published and from time to time review articles will be considered. While the editors encourage contributions in the above special fields, research papers and short reports in other areas of neutron science, especially those without an obvious traditional journal home, will also be considered for publication.
Neutron News includes meeting reports provide timely coverage of what the leaders in neutron research are talking about. Scientific research is presented in a broad array of articles and case reports covering topics such as neutron scattering, materials research, site studies, and much more.
Neutron News is a controlled circulation magazine, supplied free of charge to officials with registered neutron sources.
Notiziario Neutroni e Luce di Sincrotrone, published twice a year since 1996, aims to address the needs of neutron and synchrotron users worldwide. The magazine highlights the most notable success in the field of neutron and synchrotron radiation research and provides information on the instrumentation developments taking place at the Large Scale Facilities. Since the year 2000 English has become the official language of the journal.
Articles are modeled with a broad scope to ensure interest to neutron and synchrotron users. Appointed correspondents from most facilities around the world report on the major activities and most recent developments at their centres. You can also subscribe to the NNLS newsletter.
An increasing number of scholarly publishers and journals are converting to open access. In fields relevant to neutron science and technology, the journals listed below are available in full open access. You will find a short description of the scope covered by each journal and, if you wish to publish in one of those yourself, a link to the publishing information page.
For further information on open access you can download the full package of the Open Access Guide here [zip Archive (2.8 MB)]. Material kindly provided by Mathilde Pascal, ILL.
