CERIC-ERIC: Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium

CERIC

CERIC-ERIC is an integrated multidisciplinary Research Infrastructure open in the countries of Central-Eastern Europe (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia) for basic and applied research in the fields of Materials, Biomaterials and Nanotechnology. CERIC offers an integrated service based on excellence and open access, by creating synergies among the core actors of the research and the innovation processes.

It connects and integrates multidisciplinary instruments and multi-probe techniques based on the use of electrons, ions, neutrons and photons, for the analysis and synthesis of materials and biomaterials at the nano-scale. Through one single open access point, via CERIC, scientific users can apply for the use of the available techniques and for technical support. A peer review evaluation system guarantees a competitive free access solely based on excellence and scientific publication. This new innovative service is also open to commercial users at market-based conditions.

CERIC is the result of the effort made by its Members and Observing Countries, the European Commission and the Partner Facilities offering their instruments and expertise to the users’ community, to integrate the research facilities and the national research communities within them, into this unique distributed multidisciplinary European Research Infrastructure Consortium.
