The Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) is one of the seven Laboratories of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, an international intergovernmental scientific research organisation established in 1956. At present, JINR has 18 Member States and 6 Associated States. The scientific activity of the Laboratory focuses on two fields of science, namely condensed matter research and nuclear physics with neutrons. The first one includes research programs developed at the IBR-2 fast pulsed reactor and focused on physics of nanosystems, structure and dynamics of functional materials, complex liquids and polymers, molecular biology and pharmacology, structure of rocks and minerals, engineering diagnostics, etc.
