The German Committee Research with Neutrons represents all scientists in Germany and at common institutions abroad who work with neutrons or are closely related to neutron research. It consists of seven elected scientists and usually four coopted members. Representatives of the facilities, the project management agency and the ministry attend the meetings as guests. The Committee gives out recommendations on strategies in neutron research and aims at fostering this science field. Topics in this context include design and use of sources and instruments, public relations, outreach to scientists in other fields and fostering young scientists, initiation of workshops and conferences and information dissemination.
