The Italian Neutron Spectroscopy Society (SISN) is the representative association of the neutron users in Italy (estimated in more than 300 people). The organization is open to all those who are using, or interested in the use of, neutron scattering techniques. The objectives of the society are the promotion and spreading of the neutron scattering techniques and related applications in the Italian scientific community, the advancement of neutron instrumentation and technologies, the training and support to young scientists, the exchange of scientific ideas and the development of interdisciplinary relations and the support for optimum access to international neutron sources. Moreover, SISN has also the important role in providing scientific and technological advice to research institutes, authorities and agencies on addressing problems related to the general development and actions on neutron scattering and on related topics.
