Deadline for Neutron Scattering and Deuteration Proposals at the OPAL Reactor

Date: 16/07/2015
Source: http://www.ansto.gov.au

Proposals at the OPAL Neutron Beam Facility (both cold- and thermal-neutron instruments) and National Deuteration Facility.
We have now had 2 full years of reliable cold neutrons at OPAL since 18th July 2014, and we operate around 300 days per calendar year.
Deadline 15 September 2015, for beam time between January and June 2016

ANSTO is open for proposals for the following neutron-beam instruments and facilities:

Small-angle X-ray scattering and X-ray reflectometry (in conjunction with QUOKKA or PLATYPUS)

Note for Australian and New Zealand users: all access to our in-house X-ray machines is now through the OPAL Portal (https://neutron.ansto.gov.au), rather than via AINSE – the same access principles apply as before.

Physical Properties Measurement System (only in collaborative mode with ANSTO staff) – NEW

Proposals should be submitted using our on-line system, https://neutron.ansto.gov.au Deadline: 15 September 2015.

  • For single visit proposals for neutron and X-ray instruments, select round “2016-1 Neutron”
  • For 3-year program proposals for neutron instruments, select “2016-1 Neutron Program”
  • For National Deuteration Facility proposals, select round “2016-1 Deuteration”
