The Call for ESS Science Symposia is Open

What science will you be pursuing tomorrow? What do you need from ESS in order to realize your scientific vision? You are invited to apply for funding from ESS to organize an ESS Science Symposium.

Organized by researchers around Europe, the ESS Science Symposia play an important part in identifying the scientific potential of ESS and the instruments and facilities required to realize that potential. Reports from the symposia feed the science strategy of ESS, thus affecting the development of this next-generation facility.

17 symposia have been held since the first call for symposia in 2011, in areas as diverse as “Neutrons for Future Energy Strategies”, “Spin Dynamics of Correlated Electron Systems”, “Neutrons and Food”, and many more. Programmes and reports from the symposia can be found here.

The current call invites applications for ESS Science Symposia, to be organized during the academic year 2013-2014. Please submit your application by August 31st.
